Hedge Fund Firm taps Kapnick for Fund Manager

Highbridge Capital Management, according to inside sources, has hired Scott Kapnick to head a private equity business. Kapnick, the former co-head of Goldman Sachs banking will fundraise and manage two $1 to 2 bn funds that will handle private equity investments. Kapnick will first oversee mezzanine financing for LBOs through a credit fund starting in the fall and follow up with a private equity fund early next year. Kapnick served 21 years at Goldman and was a major force in the firm’s European expansion last decade. Later, Kapnick was Goldman Sachs International’s co-CEO before he exited the firm.
